Help The Sharifi Family
Donation protected
The Sharifi family fled from Afghanistan after the withdrawal of the US troops. Months before resettling in the Bay Area, Munira Sharifi, pregnant during this time, had been stuck with her husband and their two boys in an immigration holding in Wisconsin.
Three months after resettling in the Bay Area, Munira Sharifi gave birth to her baby boy, Mehran. The Sharifi family received a surprise diagnosis following the birth of their son. Mehran has been diagnosed with Trisomy 21 and an imbalance of chromosome 3. Baby Mehran has been in the NICU for 29 days now due to his health and feeding issues. He currently has a feeding tube and must be given routine oxygen therapy to stabilize his breathing. He will likely need a G-Tube put in to eliminate any issues he may have swallowing and gaining weight instead of having the feeding tube down his throat. The Sharifi family is currently waiting for Mehran to be transferred to the children's hospital by ambulance.
The family's daily routine consists of Mohammad dropping off their nine-year-old son in the morning before heading to his job at a mechanic shop. He takes their four-year-old son to the shop with him, as his wife takes an uber ride of 45 minutes to the hospital every morning to visit baby Mehran.
Munira gets back from the hospital before her eldest son gets off school and walks approximately 30 minutes to get there.
Mohammad is the sole provider and makes just enough to pay the bills. He gets no time off from work to be able to support his wife and children during this difficult time. The proceeds collected will help Mohammad take some time off from work and help Munira and her children get the essentials they need. The money collected will pay for their rent, utilities, travel, gas, driving course, and baby essentials for baby Mehran.
Baby Mehran is currently wearing donated clothes from the hospital.
We thank you for your prayers and any amount you can donate. Every dollar and prayer counts. Thank you.
