Help the Simpson's with Medical and Home Expenses

Hi all,

The Simpson family has had quite a wild ride in the first week of 2022.

Mike (my dad) was just discharged from the hospital after a week long stay. He is battling a seemingly unending list of ailments, including liver damage, pneumonia, and a bladder infection, as well as still recovering from previous hip, back, and knee surgeries.

Peggy (my mom) is suffering from early onset dementia. While my dad was in the hospital, I needed to check in with her multiple times a day just to make sure she remembered to eat food and drink water.

While all this was going on, the freeze last week combined with the heavy rains this week led to their basement flooding. All carpet needs to be ripped out, and there is black mold in the drywall which will need to be addressed.

I've had a lot of people ask how they can help in the past several days. The support we've already received - food supplies, phone calls, visits - I cannot express enough gratitude or how helpful this all has been. I wanted to start this gofundme because I believe we will be looking at some pretty exorbitant hospital bills, in home care expenses for both my parents, and restoration fees for the basement. I can't ask that everyone visit our home, whether due to covid or other reasons, so this avenue seemed the best way to direct support from those who are not sure what they can do.
