Help The SouthCrestCommunity Back on its Feet
Donation protected
As many of you know, much of our beloved neighborhood fell victim to the immense flooding on January 22,2024. Unfortunately for the community of SouthCrest, we have been abandoned by the city of decades and this has resulted in an unprecedented historical flooding of our community.
The impact of this flood has not only been devastating, but also widely traumatizing for the community as we see time and time again the City of San Diego has left us behind. We have urged the City to clean up the water channels for decades on end so that this type of catastrophe could be better handled and mitigated. Unfortunately our voices continue to go unheard.
100's of families have been displaced, 100's of homes are completely destroyed and all personal items, furniture, belongings have been damaged to the point of having to be thrown out. So many families have lost everything in the past two weeks and are left to fend for themselves as the City has been so slow to respond effectively to the many needs a catastrophe of this magnitude has created.
Fortunately, we have had a lot of volunteer organizations step in to help the community. They have given many shelter, food and donated supplies/clothes to get through the first few weeks. As many residents are now thinking of the enormous cost of rebuilding their homes, I ask of you to help donate any amount to alleviate some of this stress.
Money collected will go to supply water/mold remediation sprays, dehumidifiers and fans to dry out the homes as well as building material; drywall, flooring, paint, etc.
Thank you for all your support in this, together we can make a difference and help alleviate some of the burden and stress of our beloved neighbors, family and friends.
