Help the Spiller's

Hi my name is Ronda and I live next door to Aaron, Katie, Nolan and Evie Spiller. If you are part of the community you probably know and love them, but what you may not know is how hard they were hit by this last storm. So much of their property washed away that their home has been deemed unsafe and has been condemned by the city. It all started in January with a huge tree across the creek coming down. The rain washed it downstream anchoring it in front of their house causing a build-up of debris that created an island. It redirected the creek causing it to erode the bank. After the heavy rains, the high winds caused two huge trees on either side of their yard to undermine the bank and create an eddy that eventually took out the whole front yard up to a couple of feet from the foundation. Aaron had already moved his family out but at this point, the city tagged the house as unlivable. Suddenly they were without a home. They were denied a claim by their insurance and Fema won't do anything unless the county is declared a disaster zone. (It was for January but has not yet been for March.) As of today, the insurance company has reopened the case but it will be a while. In the meantime they are not receiving any financial help from insurance or Fema. I have set up a gofundme to help with their housing needs. My hope is that we raise enough to cover a security deposit and at least a couple of months rent so that they can find a place to live until things get settled.
