Alex informs me that they've secured a cabin at their campground, but it's not all it's cracked up to be. Speaking of cracked up, Alex's ultrawide monitor was a casualty in the incident that likely totalled the Standiford camper and part-and-parcel to his workflow.

THE STANDIFORDS' STORY

The Standiford Family, a family of four plus three pets, has embarked on a unique journey driven by their passion for living life on their terms. Their philosophy is simple: do what you love and make the most of the limited time they have on this Earth.

The idea of extended travel has been a long-cherished dream for Alex and Kate. They've consciously and unconsciously worked towards this experience, not for recognition but as a reflection of their authentic selves. As they set out on this adventure, they faced unforeseen challenges brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic. With 2 kids, an English Springer Spaniel, and 2 cats in their company, they've had to navigate the intricacies of providing space and homeschooling while being on the road.

The Standiford Family's journey is best described as "Casual Weirdness" — they embrace their uniqueness and take pride in being called "weird" as it signifies that they are following their own rhythm — so much so it's the name of their travel blog, casualweirdness dot life

However, their journey hit an unexpected roadblock. Their beloved fifth wheel RV was severely damaged during transport from Georgia to Texas in early November of 2023, jeopardizing their ability to continue this adventure. The incident has left them in need of financial support to both navigate the repair or replacement of their home on wheels, and renting a place to stay while they get things sorted.
