Help the Stepp Family

My name is Kayla Johnson. I have known Natalie for over 12 years, so every word below will come from years of firsthand knowledge and witness. When Natalie married Glenn, he quickly became a close friend to me as well. I can wholeheartedly say that both Glenn and Natalie truly live out what it means to have a servant’s heart. I watched Natalie lead worship, spend hours preparing children’s ministry material, and serve our church members inside and outside of the church walls from the beginning to the end of her pregnancy. Glenn is the exact same way. Every Sunday morning, he is cleaning, moving chairs/tables, and doing whatever it takes to prepare the church while enthusiastically greeting every person that walks through the door. With that same commitment, they were diligently preparing to become parents in early August.
On July 13, 2023, Natalie and Glenn went to a scheduled doctor’s appointment just to get a checkup. While there, she was told to go to the hospital to be monitored. Baby Asher made his arrival, three and a half weeks early, on July 14, 2023. He weighed 5 lbs and 8 oz. By Monday evening, they were all home and trying to get into their new routine as a family. On Tuesday, Natalie and Glenn took Asher to the doctor for a follow up where the pediatrician immediately sent him back to the hospital. He was started on IVs for an infection, a light box, and eventually a warming box to regulate his temperature.
As of now, we are believing he is on the road to recovery, but we have several more weeks of monitoring due to his infections. With all this being said, while Asher was a long-awaited answered prayer that many people have prayed years for, he was still quite the surprise when he arrived three weeks early.
With Asher coming early, Glenn and Natalie were not expecting to be without income during this time. They have been generous with their time and concern while providing meals, rides, and care to many people in their time of need. We want to be a blessing back to them and take some financial stress from them, so they can focus on baby Asher.
If you have met Glenn and Natalie, you know they work hard and love harder. They are two of the most faithful, loving, and hardworking people I know, and they could use your prayers and help during this time. I have had the honor of watching both Glenn and Natalie relentlessly give of themselves to others in need.
They are the first to offer help to someone during a tough time. Now, they have found themselves in need due to circumstances outside of their control. We are asking for donations to help with the expenses they will incur over the next several weeks. Please help us to be a blessing to their new family. Thank you in advance, and we will keep you all updated here.
