Help the Strickland Family After Tragic Loss

My sister, Tiffany Strickland, and her two children have now moved in with my family outside of Valley Center from Lawrence. It was a hard move. Leaving everything familiar that they have known for the last decade, including their darling home, her good job, their sweet friends, their precious church family, the kids’ childcare providers and schools, and everything they’ve experienced there with Justin is tough to leave behind. My parents and other sister are embracing Tiffany and the kids and trying to help them as best we can with this difficult transition. It’s so much change all at once.

We continue to covet your prayers and appreciate any further donations to help this family move forward, even as they continue to grieve the loss of their precious husband and daddy. Thank you so very much from the bottom of our hearts.

My name is Kylee Montalvo. It is with great sadness that I share my brother-in-law, Justin Strickland, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, December 28, 2024, after suffering multiple seizures. His heart gave out, and his brain and body could not recover. Justin was a beloved husband, daddy, son, brother, uncle, coworker, and loyal friend to many. He loved others without pretense or judgement. His humility was evident, even as he was at the top of his trade as an expert arborist and tree-trimmer. Justin loved adventure and was never happier than when he was outdoors with his wife and children, playing, tree climbing, fishing, swimming, riding BMX, or hunting morels.

My heart breaks for my sister, Tiffany Strickland, Justin’s wife, and their 8-year-old daughter, and 4-year-old son, who are now left to navigate a future without their husband and daddy. And while our grieving family is supporting them as best we can, there are many uncertainties ahead for this precious family.

The sudden nature of his passing has left Tiffany and the kids not only grieving, but also facing financial burdens for which they were not prepared, such as funeral expenses and medical bills. Tiffany and the children will be relocating from Lawrence to the Wichita area to live closer to family support. Initially, this will add to the financial burdens and uncertainties involved in uprooting their lives without the head of their household.

We are asking for your help to ease the financial burden and provide support as the family navigates this overwhelming time. Moving costs, living expenses, childcare expenses, vehicle needs, an uncertain employment future for Tiffany, as well as other unexpected costs are putting additional stress on this already tragic time. Every donation, no matter the amount, will go directly to Justin’s family to help cover expenses and provide for their future needs.
