Help The Striking UAW Local 807 CNH Workers
Donation protected
Hi, I am Aaron Kennelly. I am fundraising to help buy groceries and supplies for the striking UAW Local 807 workers at the Burlington, IA CNH Industrial plant.
These brave workers went on strike on Monday, May 2, after their contract expired on April 30.
Some personal background: I worked off and on at the CNH plant in Burlington for seven years through an engineering consulting firm, doing project-based work and filling various temporary positions. In November 2021, I accepted a position at CNH as a Manufacturing Engineer on the Tractor-Loader-Backhoe assembly line -- a job I had been filling on contract since May.
At noon on Monday, the union walked out of the plant and started their picket line. Soon after, I told my boss I refused to cross the picket line, turned my stuff in, and walked off the job in solidarity with the union.
I'm starting this fundraiser because I saw this post on the union's Facebook page:
I wasn't planning on going public with my identity because I feel this story should be about the courageous union workers taking a stand and demanding what they deserve. But I've decided I need to do this to help them out while they are on the picket line.
So, if you have the means, please send what you can so these workers don't have to worry about what they are going to eat while they are on strike and balancing all of life's other needs.
In solidarity,
Aaron Kennelly
