Help the Sun continue to shine!

Hi! Most of you know me well, some better than others. Many of you know I have been involved in various forms of volunteer work and charities since being a kid. I think my family being a foster home for kids of need in MN instilled something deep inside me. I believe we all have a chance to help. We all have a story, and sometimes, the very thing people need to put them on their feet is a hand from a stranger.

One of my dearest friends has been hit by some hard times. This picture - it embodies everything she MAKES YOU FEEL when you have the pleasure of her company! She's love, and sunshine, positivity and her being alive is a present!! Recently, the TN legislature notified individuals of the SNAP voucher program that they are no longer eligible for assistance (of $281 a month). TN has decided that if you DON'T have children, and you are an able bodied person trying to make ends meet, you don't warrant any support. They've also enacted this right before the winter is getting ready to hit, which is usually the season where "scraping by" can be the hardest.

Every year, me and folks I love on, take on various charity works and donations with special focus during the holidays. This year, I am asking for folks to consider giving to my cause. I'm trying to raise at least $1700, which is just over $281 a month, for 6 months. (EDIT: We did that in less than 24 hours, so now I have doubled it to help one additional deserving person to make it through the next 6 months). Otherwise, one of my dearest friends and one of the most special people I know, will be trying to buy groceries on a budget of $35.00 a week. I'm sharing as many details as I feel comfortable, since I also would never want to embarrass her.
