Help the Surdi Family Rebuild after loss of home

Hi, I'm Caitlin - one of the daughters of John and Barb Surdi.

 

John and Barb Surdi, Somerset residents for over 30 years, woke up to their home sliding off the foundation this morning due to a water main break. Thankfully they were rescued, but their home has since collapsed . They have lost everything - all they have is the pajamas that they left in. It is still unclear whether or not insurance will cover this loss.

 

 

 

 

 

They raised four kids in the Somerset neighborhood and have owned Crystal Carpet Cleaning for the past thirty years, which they operated out of their home. They have always been active members in the community - through Somerset pool, Somerset Elementary, Tyee Middle School and Newport Highschool -

always jumping at the opportunity to help those around them.

 

 

 

At this time, all of their family business equipment, trucks, and electronics are gone. Outside of their business, their home was the only accessible place for their family to gather as their oldest son is in a wheelchair from an accident. Their home, physical memories and sense of security are all gone.

 

My parents are devastated and in shock. It is still unknown what will be covered under insurance. Please support my parents as they figure out how to rebuild their lives.
