Help the Svendsen Family Rebuild After Hurricane Helene
The Svendsen family has always been a beacon of love, generosity, and support in their community. Now, they need our help.
In 2020, the Svendsens built their dream home, a labor of love completed with the help of family and friends. Their goal was to finish in time for their daughter Sofie's wedding, and they did just that. The home and the riverside property became a stunning outdoor wedding venue where the groom custom-built the arbor, and the couple planted a unity tree by the water. Every detail—from the hand-laid stonework to the fresh sod—was a testament to the love that built their home.
But on September 28, everything changed. Hurricane Helene hit with devastating force. As the storm raged, the riverbanks were breached, flooding not just the wedding venue but the yard and home itself. The water levels rose 72 inches inside the house, destroying everything on the bottom floor. Inches of mud covered the floors, furniture, and cabinets. Appliances, memories, and precious belongings were lost in the flood.
The Svendsens have always been leaders in their community. They give selflessly through their church, mission projects, prison ministries, medical care, Bible studies, and by helping anyone in need. Their hearts have always been open to others; now, they need us to open our hearts to them.
The Svendsens face the daunting task of rebuilding their home and lives. Let’s come together and help this family recover from this unimaginable tragedy. Your donations, prayers, and support will make all the difference in getting them back on their feet.
Thank you for standing with the Svendsens in their time of need.
