Help the Temple Dogs of Wat Damnak
Donation protected
While I was in Cambodia, I spent a lot of time at Wat Damnak, a beautiful pagoda in the heart of Siem Reap. It's not just a place of worship—it’s also a safe haven for stray and abandoned dogs. The monks and locals do what they can, but vet care can be expensive, and these dogs rely on the kindness of visitors to get the help they need.
I met Charley (that's him with the pink leash being a good boy at the vet's office), a gentle soul with a rare condition that caused him to lose hair on his tail and ears. A kind vet in Siem Reap donated her time for his checkup, but the medication cost $50, which I was happy to cover. Before I left, Baby-Baby, a playful pup who loves roughhousing with the others, got a bite from a Mango Fly and needed medical care. A young traveler from Ireland stepped in to cover her $100 vet bill.
These small acts of kindness go a long way, and I know there are more people out there who would love to help. This fundraiser is for those who want to sponsor vet care for a temple dog—whether it’s antibiotics for an injury, treatment for a skin condition, or just basic checkups. Every little bit helps keep these dogs safe, healthy, and happy.
If you love animals and want to make a real difference, please consider donating. The temple dogs of Wat Damnak will be so grateful. ❤️
