Help The Terry Family Rebuild after Hurricane Ian
Donation protected
Dear friends & family,
There are so many stories of devastation in the aftermath of Hurricane Ian. We pray for everyone in Southwest Florida who was affected.
One particular story is near and dear to our hearts. Unfortunately, our dear friends, Bryan and Shannon Terry and their two daughters, Autumn, 4 and Amya, 11, have lost everything.
They say God puts certain people in your life for a reason, and we believe this is the perfect instance. We met Bryan and Shannon in several serendipitous encounters on the way to and in Roatan, Honduras. Their radiant, positive and warm energy is what drew us into friendship.
Last Thursday night, Ian pummeled the West Coast of Florida and the small town of North Port, setting the Terry Family up for a horrific night. As the winds grew stronger and the water in their home began to rise, a neighbor braved the storm to warn them they needed to leave NOW. They gathered what necessities they could and were able to swim across the street in hurricane-force winds with debris flying from homes being ripped to shreds around them. They are lucky to be alive.
As new Florida transplants without friends or family nearby, they entered Friday morning to every parent's nightmare. Bryan was able to push the flooded family car through the flooded street to higher ground and get the car started. Thankfully they were able to flee to the East coast, after trying to get to Tampa first, where we were able to help them into a hotel with dry beds and warm water.
Upon returning to the home after a few days in solace, they've found their belongings destroyed and the home utterly unlivable due to the moisture and growing mold. The home is a rental, and sadly their rental insurance policy does not cover flooding.
The financial toll this disaster will take on the Terry family is devastating.
Anything you can spare to help the Terry Family rebuild their lives is priceless. This fundraiser will go towards safe lodging, clothing, food, gas, toiletries, deposit and rent for a new home, and everything that comes along with said new home.
While so many Floridians have had their homes, lives, and businesses stripped from them, so many of us have so much to be grateful for. If you are unable to donate, we ask you to please SHARE!
