Support Zach's Recovery from Severe Burns

Hello, we are friends and family of Zach, Mairin, and Bay Thompson, and we truly appreciate you taking a moment to read this story as we would really like to support them during this extremely difficult time.

On Saturday, November 2, 2024, Zach was in a terrible accident in which he was severely burned. Because of the seriousness of the burns he was airlifted to the UNC Chapel Hill burn unit where he is currently receiving treatment from specialists and has already undergone an extensive surgery to save his legs and repair damaged tissue. The physicians anticipate that Zach will have to stay in the burn unit for at least 3-4 months to ensure that his wounds heal properly. Mairin and Bay have been by his side and will continue to reside in Chapel Hill with Zach throughout his treatment and recovery period.

As you can imagine, the medical and living expenses for this type of treatment as well as the amount of time they will have to be away from home are a great deal. Any money donated will be used to secure interim housing for Mairin, childcare for Bay, cover air link flight expenses, and support in covering medical bills accrued over Zach’s treatment and recovery period.
