We are a house of disabled black trans people residing in unlivable conditions due to lack of maintenance and assistance from the landlord. We were hoping to find new housing by the end of our lease because of the conditions and because we are down a roommate in our 4 bedroom house. Being a house of low-income/unemployed folks we just were not able to move before January.
We are able to do month-to-month with our current landlord, though unfortunately it means that we need to pay a quarter of the rent that was being covered by a roommate who has since relocated. We are asking for help because we are in a situation where we can’t afford to move but we also can’t really afford to stay. Any donations and/or leads to affordable 3 bedroom housing in RVA that would be flexible to our low-income/unemployed status would help.
Transparency of where the funds would be going:
337 - rent for current house
100 - utilities
1100 - deposit for new place
550 - first month's rent for new place//offsetting moving expenses
240 - application fees
