Help the Walsh family get Heidi help!!

I am writing this on behalf of Kayla and Nic Walsh and their family. They are some of the beautiful friends here in Calgary and such a wonderful family with three beautiful kiddos!!

Since December ‘21, their youngest Heidi has been experiencing episodes of extreme pain sometimes lasting minutes, sometimes hours, and a couple times has lasted days, where she is inconsolable and there isn’t anything that helps. These episodes have been accompanied by many other systemic issues as well and it’s been an exhausting, frustrating, uncertain few months.

After being in hospital 5 times, seeing many doctors including paeds and paeds neurology, and doing multiple blood tests, Ultrasounds on every major organ, Genetics testing and more, they are nowhere close to having an answer, never mind a resolution.

After much deliberation and recognizing the minimum 8 month wait for further testing, Kayla & Heidi will be traveling to Salt Lake City Primary Children’s Hospital in Utah, USA to do more tests in a timely fashion. They were urged by specialists to have these tests done asap because if there’s any significant result from these tests, having more time to act on them would be ideal.

Heidi is 1 year old and 0.2percentile for her age (not even in the growth chart anymore).

Salt Lake City Primary Children’s Hospital is one of the top rating hospitals for paediatric medicine and research and Heidi will be well taken care of.

That being said, the USA is also known for the high costs associated with receiving medical care and because Heidi & Kayla are Canadian, there are also travel costs to consider. Nic will be required to take time off to be with Kameron and Emery, in addition to travel, food, medical bills, accommodations near the hospital, etc and it will all add up quite quickly.

Please do not feel obligated to contribute but if you feel like you can, it would be hugely appreciated. We would like to get sweet Heidi the help she needs as every parents worse nightmare is seeing their child suffer.
