Bonnie's unimaginable battle ...

Meet the Waltman family. Dan, Bonnie and their 4 adorable, kind, and loving kids, ages 3-9. Bonnie is my “bonus” daughter, who I love, admire and am so grateful to have in my life. She exemplifies selflessness, strength, faith, and endurance. Bonnie has touched the lives of so many through her compassion, generosity and how she lives her life. Dan is my bonus son and Bonnie’s rock. He has determination, conviction, faith, and the most undeniable love for his family and precious wife. 

Bonnie was diagnosed with breast cancer just under 3 years ago. She has been diligent in her fight, and just when we thought she had won the battle, the adversity struck again. This past summer, she was told cancer had spread, and she was diagnosed with Metastatic Breast Cancer. Bonnie has endured surgeries, tests, chemo, radiation, and other treatments to fight this battle. 

We just learned that Bonnie’s cancer has now spread to the Mengines in the brain. Bonnie will undergo several more tests, and scans and begin Proton Therapy in the coming days. While her battle continues, our faith and hope increase to buoy her up. 

There are innovative treatments that in early trials have had excellent results. With the support of Bonnie’s Oncologist, we will leverage all options to prolong her life.

Even amidst such adversity, I am continually amazed at Bonnie’s ability to touch the lives of so many with her acts of generosity, selflessness, hope and faith. She is an incredible wife, mom, sister, daughter, and friend. We love her, we love Dan, and we love their four beautiful kids.
