My sister and her family have been fighting a secret battle for over a year now... one that few people truly understand but is a difficult battle nonetheless.
After much testing and terrifying potential diagnoses like MS and brain tumors, it was discovered that Jessica has mold toxicity and she has been working on regaining her health for a year. It's been constant worry and constant work for her family and herself to get healthy. They were faced with a decision in order to help Jessica get better... move to a new home or empty the house of its belongings and follow a specific cleaning protocol to start fresh. They live in their dream home, in their dream neighborhood - so in their hearts the best option was to stay. They recently emptied their house of a lifetime of belongings, memories, treasured items and all furniture to rid the home of any potential mold spores. They have to move out for 2+ weeks and live in a hotel so the professionals and her husband Dave could properly clean and remediate the whole house so Jess can safely live there and begin to heal. They have lost nearly everything... beds, mattresses, dressers, couches, etc.
They have to start with a clean slate if Jessica has a chance to heal. They have a positive outlook and know that what they lost are just things and most importantly they have each other and my sister is still here, fighting every day to feel OK.
Jess is the absolute first person to help a friend in need and has done so even through her sometimes debilitating illness.
Any little bit can help them rebound from this. So please help if you can and we all thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
