Help the Weiss Family safely rebuild their lives

I’m reaching out to everyone - friends, family, strangers - to help raise money for a long-time friend whose family is going through a challenging time.

On October 5, 2022, Ryan Weiss, his wife Katy, their very young son (4), and their cat were displaced when a city waste management truck sent multiple vehicles crashing through their front door and bedroom walls, where the family often spends their time. Thankfully, no one was home, but such a close call has left the family shaken. A matter of minutes made the difference in avoiding what could have been a heartbreaking tragedy for everyone.

As a mechanic, Ryan has worked himself to the bone this past year, opening his own business (Weissworx Audimotive), getting their finances together, and establishing a great relationship with their landlord, who offered to sell the house to them at a once-in-a-lifetime deal. They were so excited at finally becoming homeowners, but now it's been condemned. Even with repairs or a remodel, the experience has been too devastating for the family to feel safe living there. The intersection is on a hectic road, where many accidents occur. It's just not a safe place for them to raise their little one anymore.

This GoFundMe was created to help the Weiss' find a safer home and start putting their life back together. Unfortunately, they didn't have renter's insurance to help them out with their losses. They've lost their home, two vehicles, basic necessities, and a growing list of belongings totaling in the thousands. The funds will go toward helping them get restarted and hiring a lawyer to help them through this process.
