HELP THE WINSLOW FAMILY

Hi, my name is Michelle. I am a friend of Marjana and Brendon Winslow. I work with Marjana. As you all know a little over a year ago Marjana was diagnosed with bowel cancer. She underwent surgery and chemotherapy which she will need to have for the rest of her life.

See the cancer had also progressed to her liver and she was given a stage 4 cancer diagnosis which anyone that knows about cancer knows this is the worst possible diagnosis.

Unfortunately this week they got the absolute worst possible news that the tumours have grown and they were told Marjana will only see one more Xmas. Imagine walking away with that news to swallow.

For 12 months now she has had chemotherapy almost every 2 weeks and has suffered terribly with nausea however has remained so positive in her outlook on life. However what we don't see behind closed doors is the suffering they are going through as a family.

Marjana, Brendon and their two boys have sacrificed so much yet been so gracious.

Marjana has not been able to return to the job she loves, she has lost her health but she has certainly not lost her will to live. Brendon has had to succumb to part time hours for now in a career where he has made such a difference in the community to stay home and support his wife.

Financially they have suffered as a result in a significant loss of income plus increased fortnightly medical bills.

Mentally they have suffered which goes without explanation.

I know many of you have opened your pockets and so kindly given before which has helped The Winslows in the past 12 months however I am asking anybody if you can please donate any amount once again.

The reason I am doing this is because Marjana and Brendon have alot of family overseas in Croatia and New Zealand. Pending Marjana's capacity to travel health wise, Covid etc, there could be a chance through fund raising that they could fly to Croatia or New Zealand to see them. Alternatively if this cannot happen they may be able to assist family to come to Australia or they could go on an amazing Australian family holiday to make lasting memories or this much needed money would be put to absolute good use any other way even if to pay bills.

Of course we are all hoping for a miracle and that they will share many more years together and will keep the positive thoughts going. We who have experienced loved ones go through cancer know that a positive outlook brings more time and this family is certainly amazing in their positive attitudes.

So please once again I ask you to dig deep and support The Winslows.

Marjana was feeling very embarrassed that i am doing this as many of you have given already and she is a very proud person. I asked for her permission. She said I can't ask people for more. I said you aren't asking, I am. I said I'm doing this anyway haha.

That is the hard-working, independent, proud type of people they are so it's not them asking. It's me asking to please help in any way possible way however I do know that they would be so grateful and do need it and absolutely deserve it.
