Help the Wiska family with medical expenses

 

 

 

 

We are reaching out to friends and family for help.

 

My name is Brianna Wiska, and at the end of November, my family was exposed and became COVID positive. During their time quarantining, my dad became incredibly lethargic and weak. We used the pulse ox our family brought over and were shocked to discover his oxygen level was at 74%. We took him to the emergency room, where they gave him oxygen and began treating him for COVID pneumonia. 

 

On December 22nd, he was quickly placed on a ventilator overnight, and we could not speak with him prior. We were not able to say we love you, and we were not able to say goodbye.

 

Although we have visited him each day since then, he has been struggling to keep his oxygen and blood pressure up and battling infections within his body. His kidneys and liver failed. Despite the best efforts of his doctors and medical team, he continued to experience further complications, and I am heartbroken to share that he lost his battle.

 

Between the mounting medical bills that have been accumulating for weeks now and the cost for cremation, we need assistance as we try to navigate this new life without him by our sides.

 

We have lost our husband, father, brother, uncle, and best friend.

 

We dont want this to define Brian. He turned 56 years old this past Halloween. He loved fishing and hiking. He was a great cook, the kind that couldn’t really share a recipe because he measured ingredients with his heart. He loved a good beer and spending time with his neighborhood buddies.  He also loved his puppies, taking them out for walks, and sneaking them treats.  He loved his family  the most. Making the little kids popcorn the real way, watching Shrek with them and then getting them their favorite ice cream. Every baby that ever laid eyes on him thought “who is that handsome bald man”, at least that’s what he always told us. He will be missed by so many.
