Help the Xu Scharf Family After the Eaton Fire

Donation protected
My name is Muchen, and I am a close friend of Jing Xu and Dan Scharf. I am writing this story to call on everyone to help Jing Xu and Dan.

The Eaton Fire in Altadena has left the Xu/Scharf family facing an unimaginable loss. Thankfully, they’re safe, but their home, their memories, and everything they worked so hard for are gone.

When they received the evacuation notice, the Xu/Scharf family rushed out with their kids, thinking they'd be back in a couple of days. Tragically, the fire destroyed it all—family photos, keepsakes, and their home.

Here’s a photo of what’s left of their beautiful home:

And Jing's car:

The Xu/Scharf family consists of four members: Jing Xu and Dan Scharf, their 7-year-old daughter, and their sweet 4-month-old baby boy. Jing Xu, a former teacher and instructional coach at Field Elementary in the Pasadena Unified School District, devoted herself to her family years ago and has been a full-time mom ever since, focusing on raising her children. Dan has called that house home since 2004, building over 20 years of memories.

Now, it’s our turn to help. No amount is too small. Please consider contributing and sharing this fundraiser so we can help Jing and Dan’s family recover and start making new memories.

Every contribution, no matter the size, makes a difference. Even if you’re unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser and sending words of encouragement can help lighten their load and remind them they are not alone in this journey.
