Help the Yakobov Family Rebuild After Devastating Fire

Dear friends and compassionate supporters,

My name is Ella, and I am reaching out to seek your support for my parents, the Yakobovs, who tragically lost their home to a fire on February 27, 2024. Fortunately, they were away at the time, but the fire caused devastating damage, leaving them without a home and most of their belongings.

The fire started in the kitchen due to a malfunctioning radiator. It went undetected for hours, producing smoke and heat that destroyed their entire home and everything in it. Soot-covered walls, shattered windows, and melted electronics are just a few remnants of this nightmare. The only items salvaged were a few pieces of jewelry, some clothes, and china.

As my parents approach retirement, this loss is particularly challenging. They have faced numerous hardships throughout their lives, including immigrating twice to seek a better future. This is the first time they have lost everything in such a devastating way.

Despite the emotional toll and physical challenges, my parents remain optimistic and resilient. We are incredibly grateful that they were not home during the fire, as they could have been exposed to dangerous carbon monoxide. This tragic experience has reminded us that while material possessions can be replaced, life itself is precious.

After a long journey of recovery, we have begun rebuilding their home, but we need your help. While insurance is covering the basic renovations, it has not provided for the significant costs of materials or replacing their lost belongings. The tally so far stands at:
