Ефремовым нужна ваша помощь! "The Yefremovs Need Your Help!"

We humbly ask for your financial support in our efforts to repair our home. Immediate needs include rebuilding our driveway, getting a roof on the structure, and tearing out the home down to the studs. There is nothing to salvage except the frame. We are unlikely to get a contractor until our driveway is repaired: no vehicles or equipment can make it across. This includes garbage containers and trucks for repairs. We are unable to use electricity or water due to safety concerns. Most everything is ruined (drywall, flooring, subfloor, roof, insulation, electrical wiring, HVAC). Any contribution helps, thank you so much.

On Friday, September 27th, 2024, a record-setting century storm poured over 26 inches of rain out on our cove near Hendersonville, North Carolina. My parents, who are refugees of the former Soviet Union, have clung to this piece of dirt for over a decade. Our home was a lifetime project of love, where we kept our dreams safe. Everyone in our family knew that whenever calamity struck our “professional" or “personal” lives, we had an anchor, a rock to return to no matter what. Never did we think that something could happen to our safe place. Our home is gone because of Hurricane Helene.
At approximately 7:30 AM, a tornado touched down in our cove, causing a massive oak tree to fold our roof in half. It is a matter of inches and minutes that we did not lose anybody that morning. For hours we couldn't decide which was safer, hiding in our collapsing home or standing outside in the storm. Both felt wrong. We were just scared that it would happen again because there wasn’t a roof to stop another tree. And it certainly didn’t stop the rain from pouring in and around our home.
Everything has been taken away at once and it is difficult to stand up again. We need your help to recover emotionally, physically, and spiritually in these trying times. Thank you so much for your time and support. God bless you.
