Help the Young Family after Altadena Eaton Canyon Fires
Donation protected
My name is Denise and I am writing this on behalf of my grandmother (Lois), my mother (Kaye), and my brother (Devin). They are safe and evacuated but are now reeling with the unimaginable loss and destruction caused by the Eaton Fire in Altadena, California.
My grandmother's home was completely destroyed by the fire. This is the home my mother grew up in. A home that has been in my family for over 60 years. The home where I would sit around the table eating my grandmother's homemade meals with herbs picked from her garden. The home where I learned to bake with my grandmother standing by my side. A home surrounded by neighbors who would go above and beyond to help when needed. A home and community that was reduced to rubble in a mere matter of hours.
Although my mother's home, just a mere 5 minutes away, is currently still standing, this primary residence for my mom and brother will be uninhabitable for an unknown amount of time, and most of their belongings will be unusable due to the smoke, ash, and debris that have entered the home.
I thank God that my family is safe and ask that you continue to pray for us and our entire Altadena community. Many have sent texts or called to check in on my family, and I sincerely cannot thank you enough for reaching out. Any donations are greatly appreciated to help my entire family as we try to navigate this new and terrifying reality.
Thank you and God Bless,
Denise
