Help Serita and Brian Young Family After the Eaton Wildfire
Donation protected
Friends, Family, and Others,
My name is Genevieve Dunton, and I'm reaching out to support our dear friends, the Young family—Serita, Brian, and their two children, Aaron (13) and Riley (14)—who tragically lost their home in Altadena and everything they owned in the recent Southern California Eaton wildfire. While the wildfire swept through their neighborhood with little warning, we are relieved that the family is safe, though they now face the daunting challenge of starting over, and their insurance will not cover all that’s needed to get them back to a sense of normalcy.
Known for their kindness and dedication to their community, the Young family has always given so much to others. Serita, a dedicated attorney, has spent her career working tirelessly to serve cities and municipalities across Southern California. Her leadership extends beyond her professional life—she has also served as the board chair of The Waverly School in Pasadena, where she’s been a champion for education and a mentor to countless families. Brian brings his compassion and courage to his work with the County Probation Department, helping individuals rebuild their lives. He’s also been an integral part of the Altadena community by serving on the Central Altadena Little League Board and coaching Little League baseball teams for over 8 years.
Serita’s mother, Shelley, who lives with the Youngs, is also a committed community member through her fundraising efforts for and service to Altadena senior citizens as a member of the board of Altadena Meals on Wheels.
Riley and Aaron are active in sports. They are both intermediate surfers. Riley plays soccer with FC Golden State Force. Aaron plays soccer with AYSO and baseball with West Coast Prospects. They are also involved in community service projects in the Pasadena area through Boys Team Charity.
Now, it’s our turn to support them.
The funds raised will go directly to helping the Youngs in their recovery efforts. The funds collected will solely be used to cover unexpected expenses that are not being covered by any other disaster relief aid as they begin the long process of rebuilding their lives. Every donation, no matter the size, will make a tangible difference.
Let’s come together to show Serita, Brian, Riley, and Aaron that they are not alone during this challenging time. Your generosity will provide the support they need to heal and rebuild their lives.
Thank you for your kindness and support.
With gratitude
A little about me: I've known the Young family for 9 years. Our children went to elementary school together, and we've remained close since then. I'm so thankful for their friendship over the years. Please show your support for them during this difficult time.
