Hi! My name is Samantha and I am asking you for your kindness and generosity on behalf of my best friend who is too humble to do so herself. Alex and her husband, Will, would do anything for anyone. They have two beautiful girls, two sweet dogs and they would be the first to help their friends and family (and strangers!) in times of need.

Now, they need us.

 

At 2am Tuesday morning, Bethlehem city blasted water in order to flush 14 sewage lines due to a blockage from congealed grease. It appears the blockage was right behind the Zimpfer’s property which caused a sewage backup in their basement 6 inches high. Everything is destroyed. The insurance company is not paying for any damage and the city is taking no responsibility. They are apparently protected by PA state so they don’t have to pay. The first thought was “they need to sue!” But they did consult an attorney who is a family friend and it was said that the city would make sure to drag this out and even if they were able to have a case, it would end up costing more in legal fees than what they would even get back from the city.

 

Alex and Will have to pay roughly 13k to get their basement completely gutted as there is currently SEWAGE throughout their entire basement space. The floors, walls and heating system need to be ripped out. They have lost everything. Due to it being live sewage, nothing is sanitary or safe to keep.

 

They have 2 daughters, 10 months and 2 yrs old. They have been displaced since Tuesday due to the sewage toxins that are not safe to be in. That basement was their play room, their family room, Will’s office, their storage area & laundry room.

 

I know life is so hard for so many people right now. I appreciate any help you can provide to this young family, and I know it would mean so much to them to see just how much they are loved.
