Help the Zinser Family during this difficult time
Donation protected
Hi, my name is John Gonzalez. My sister and brother-in-law, Stephanie and Matthew Zinser, have 6 children - Matthew, Noah, Ignacio, Lucia, Emmanuel, and Gianna. Matthew (MJ) is nine years old, and has a very rare condition called Shwachman-Diamond Syndrome that can lead to bone marrow failure or leukemia. Only one in about 80,000 people are born with this condition.
MJ is in bone marrow failure. Next week, he begins two weeks of chemotherapy, and on March 14th will get a bone marrow transplant. All of this is happening in Cincinnati, Ohio at Cincinnati Children's Hospital.
I am starting this fundraiser to help them with some of the costs of this process. They live in Detroit, Michigan, where they have been Catholic missionaries for the last 5 and a half years. Cincinnati is about 250 miles from their home, and they will be traveling back and forth a number of times throughout this process. MJ will have to be in Cincinnati for 4-6 months for treatments and follow-up appointments. In addition to the cost of gas, they will need to continue to take care of and provide for their other five children at home, and will incur some medical and living expenses in Cincinnati.
Please consider making a donation to help them during this very challenging time.
