The Zuzu Welsh Band is excited to get back in the recording studio and make 2019 epic with a brand new CD! 

Since our first appearance at Brevard College's 2014 homecoming celebration, the band has appeared in a variety of places ranging from Nashville to Knoxville and from Florence, SC to Florida. Through years of performances, we have been honored to share the stage with diverse acts including MindShapeFist, The Kimberly White Project, Andrew Scotchie and the River Rats, Pam Taylor, Grammy winners Janiva Magness and Grady Champion, and many more. 

HOW WE LOVE OUR COMMUNITY:

If you've been around Asheville for any amount of time, you may already know how much the band gives back to the community, including:

> Raising money each year for local charity Our Voice by walking in their annual event to help provide services to victims of sexual abuse

> Created a fundraising performance for a local community member diagnosed with cancer

> Organized the inaugural Valley Music & Cook House Blues Festival

We will continue to support the local economy and record this CD at The Eagle Room - located in Weaverville, NC. As an award-winning musician, Matt Williams definitely knows what he is doing. Heck, he even has a glockenspiel in his studio!  :-)

Other local/area artists we respect and who have a similar sound to ours have recorded there, and their finished products are impressive. We know he will make sure our CD is top notch! 

WHY WE LAUNCHED THIS FUNDRAISER:

~~They say the definition of a musician is someone who puts $5,000 worth of gear into a $500 car to drive 100 miles to do a $50 gig, and that's not far from the truth!~~

Recording and distributing music as an independent artist is HUGELY rewarding. It is also both challenging AND expensive, with costs ranging from the large (like paying for the recording studio to the small (all those guitar strings cost money), and everything in between.
