Keep It Going

We are asking for your help, once again. Theresa, while having made huge strides in her recovery, is still in need of additional treatments. Her heart was damaged during this whole illness and is operating at less than half its normal strength. Since she was released from the hospital she has been wearing what’s called a ‘Life Vest’ which will shock her in the case of heart stoppage. Thank goodness it hasn’t gone off! But that was only a temporary solution, at best. She had an echocardiogram a couple of weeks ago and, alas, it showed little improvement of the heart muscle. So, in the next week she is going to have a permanent defibrillator surgically implanted. And then yet another period of recovery. On the huge upside her spirits are great! Her mobility has improved. And she is getting out and about more often. As we all know, she’s a fighter.
She has applied for Long Term Disability. But this process takes months and there’s no guarantee she’ll be approved. Because of the illness, and the closing of the Rose Garden, Jeff and Theresa’s income has been more than halved and the bills for both their hospitalizations and surgeries are exceeding $500,000. Insurance has covered most of it, but not all of it. That’s why we’re asking again for your help – to just get through the next uncertain few months with at least a mild sense of security. If you can help, thank you. If you have helped, thank you. If you just wish you could, thank you – thank you – thank you!
For all those that have contributed, both monetarily and in the profound outpouring of love, they are forever grateful. Every little kind word, every act of love, every good wish have meant everything to them! It has sustained them both in way you can’t imagine. Let’s keep it going!
