Help Theresa's Family Enjoy Life Amid Cancer Battle

Updated March 12, 2025:
Theresa and her family continue to fight, and they continue to need our help. Theresa just received some not so great news, which will likely result in an increase in medical bills and prescriptions. I have updated our goal with this in mind. Please continue to share far and wide. And check out Theresa's blog for updates directly from her
In a few short weeks (the end of January 2025), it will be 10 years since I met Theresa. We first crossed paths at the Anna Jaques New Moms group. Both of us with newborns (tall and lanky) born just days apart. I was a bit of a mess, with a baby that couldn't gain weight and a pretty awful case of post-partum depression. That's what brought me to the group in the first place - just the goal of getting out of the house and having somewhere to go where a screaming baby might be the norm. What kept me coming back, week after week, until the end of that summer when we all reluctantly went back to work, were the amazing women I met. Among them, Theresa Woodbury.
During those first sleepless months the AJH Mommies, as we still refer to ourselves, were there for each other. Nearly 10 years later, we still show up. This time, for Theresa.
This amazing woman has given so much to the community throughout her life. A Girl Scout who persevered all the way through her Gold Award, Theresa made blankets for people in need. As our children started school, she volunteered tirelessly for the PTA and the local sports teams - even coaching t-ball!! During COVID, she helped seniors and immunocompromised individuals get the vaccine as early as possible. And when I had my own lung surgery, she was there through the scary parts and with a meal during recovery.
One would think that the universe would be good to a soul as kind and compassionate as Theresa's, yet she has been battling lung cancer since 2023. Along with that medical fight, inevitably comes the financial fight of paying for scans, medications, and treatment. That leaves little for The Woodbury's to put towards enjoying their time together. That baseball league that Theresa coached for? The school activities for her boys where she volunteered so readily on the PTA? The list goes on - they all cost money. After giving so much, Theresa and her family should be able to enjoy even a bit of what life has to offer without her having to skip a scan or forgo a treatment.
This is where we come in. I have come to know Newbury and the Triton communities as kind and generous. It doesn't take much for us to make a big difference in the lives of the Theresa and her family.
My two asks:
1. Donate what you can so Theresa's boys can experience as close to a normal childhood as possible. And...
2. Share this far and wide so that others can hear Theresa's story and help in any way they can.
If you want to learn more about Theresa and her journey, I encourage you to read her blog, linked here . She is truly an incredible woman who deserves to kick cancer's ass AND watch her kids be kids while she's doing it.
THANK YOU!!!
