HELP THESE GRIZZLIES ACHIEVE THEIR GOALS!

EIGHT Wadsworth Grizzly wrestlers have qualified for the USA Wrestling National Tournament in Fargo, ND, July 15th-20th. The qualification process is not easy. It requires them to place top three in the Ohio freestyle state tournament or top six in a regional tournament consisting of multiple states. This is a great opportunity for these young men. The cost of the event is $1,300 per wrestler. The Wadsworth High School wrestling program has been grateful for its success and the opportunities we can give to our athletes.

The Grizzlies have won 2 team state championships, 10 top-four finishes, and 26 top-ten finishes. The Grizzlies have had 24 individual state championships and have had 138 individual state placers. This past year they delivered another outstanding performance, finishing 4th in the state of Ohio and with two individual champions and 7 placers. Please help us continue this program's greatness and support our young men competing at this National Event.

 

Meet Our Wrestlers:

Jaxon Joy-Jaxon was a sophomore this past season. Jaxon was a state runner-up as a freshman and won an individual state championship this season. Jaxon is also our team captain and carries a 4.0 GPA.

 

Chris Earnest-Chris was a junior this past season. Chris was a district champion his freshman year before the state tournament was canceled. Chris then went on to place 4th as a sophomore and then became a state champion his junior year. Chris also is a team captain and carries a 3.6 GPA.

 

Coen Grimm-Coen was a junior this past season and finished 4th in the state tournament. Coen is a team captain and carries a 3.2 GPA. Coen also is a star football player on the defensive side of the ball.

 

Aaron Ries-Aaron was a sophomore this last season and finished 8th in the state tournament. Aaron is a leader on and off the mat. Aaron carries a 3.5 GPA. Aaron is very dominant on the offensive side of the ball on the football team.

 

Kaden Mellon-Kaden was a sophomore this past season, where he was a state alternate by finishing 5th in the district tournament. He brings a great work ethic every day and enjoys the sport. Kaden is a leader in the room and carries a 3.4 GPA.

 

Jack Dinwiddie-Jack was a freshman this season and finished 7th in the state tournament. Jack puts in the work each and every day. He also is the kicker on the football team. Jack holds a GPA of 4.02

 

Hunter Buckland-Hunter was a junior this past season. Hunter had a very successful record during the 2021-2022 season. He continues to improve each season. Hunter carries a 3.2 GPA.

Kolt Mellon-Kolt is an incoming freshman next season. He is a 2x Junior High State Placer! Kolt is also make an impact on the football field as well. Kolt has had a successful career. He excels off the mat as well and carries above a 4.0.
