Lend a hand to the Savery’s

This iconic blue home in Port aux Basques has been front page in every news article and social media platform when it comes to hurricane “Fiona”. To our family, this iconic blue home is more than just a representation of devastation and catastrophe from a hurricane. It’s where I told my mother in law that her son had proposed to me. It’s where we told my father in law he was going to be a grandfather. It’s where we gathered around a large kitchen table as a family and ate fresh caught lobster.
There are irreplaceable memories in this iconic blue house. There were also irreplaceable items that were held very dear to my family. On September 24th, Peggy, Lloyd, and Josh lost everything from their clothes, to their furniture, from their pictures to their appliances. All of their every day comforts are now sitting at the bottom of the ocean. My family members are without a home.
We are unsure of insurance coverage or federal compensation at this time. Of course, financial compensation will never get back what they’ve lost, but I hope we can pull together and help to provide them with some basic comforts for the time being. I know that the Savery’s have impacted so many peoples lives in the most positive of ways and I wish nothing but to repay the selflessness they’ve displayed over the years.
Let’s be the community that they need right now. Thank you to all of you for your kindness, generosity, and thoughtful words.
(I’ve set a financial goal, as required by go fund me, but I hope to exceed this. Funds will be directly transferred to Peggy Savery).
Any donation of any size is appreciated, but if a donation is not possible, please ensure to share this post and spread the word to friends and family! All help is appreciated at this time.
