Help this Freelancer Thrive & Beat Her Expenses!

Donation protected

Hey there!

It seems you've stumbled across another fundraiser asking you for help with some personal expenses. And I know while you are good of heart for having even entertained my story so far, you don't want to sit down and read a 10-paged essay on why I'm recruiting you for assistance. So, I'll try to be as brief as possible with a tl;dr at the very bottom in case you just want to get to the point and don't need full context!

Let's start.

I am a MFA student and a newly minted freelancer who has just launched her first business. Hooray! But, as you can imagine, launching a business takes a lot of time, planning, and money. Since last April, I have been funding my own endeavor between the money I earned at my old job (which was emotionally exhausting and difficult to cope with as somebody with ADHD and anxiety) and the money I saved between semesters.

In order to commit fully to my work, I decided to try and eke out a space for myself in Seattle. The space I have is perfect to do this: I have twice the amount of room to film and shoot new material on a weekly basis. I also have the space to see clients (once covid-19 isn't such a raging threat) and the environment overall is just much better for my sense of wellness. I really love it here and I have to say, so far, so good.

...except that you know Seattle can be rather costly. And while I have planned and saved up for this move for months, my savings are not inexhaustible.

This is where I could really use your help!

How Much I Need To Make this Work and Why (UPDATED):

I'm currently asking for $1,500 and I've currently met 1/5th of that goal.

My budget breakdown looks like this:

- > $1275 (for rent + utilities)
- > $350 (~$80/week food)
- > $90 (Health + Dental insurance)
- > $85 (cellphone)
- > $75 (electricity, this is separate from utilities)

I've had enough to make it work up until now but that's where you come in! Meeting this goal will help me get the ball rolling for the following reasons:

1) It allows me time to market, get more clients, and receive my financial aid from my Master's program

2) I buy myself time to apply for more grants (grants take 3-6 months to apply to and I was only recently able to initiate this process), and

3) I can create and submit proposals to teach virtual workshops at the public library

More About My Business:

I mentioned I am a freelancer but to be more specific, I am a certified Intimacy Coach, spiritual advisor, and content creator - all at once! Under the monkier of "The Sterile Slut," I teach clients on how to get in touch with their sensual and spiritual self.

I started out with just a single Wordpress, writing blog posts on different sex-centric topics that ranges from FYIs to toy reviews. Since then, I have expanded to creating graphics  and videos . It is only recently that I've finally been able to offer myself as an available teacher  and create subscription based content   in order to start monetizing the hours of work I've put into my product.

Getting a return on my investment will take time. Right now, I am putting in work behind the scenes to get collaborations and find affordable venues to advertise myself. So far, I have been enjoying the journey of learning how to be a true blue entrepreneur.

However, I am doing this off the back of my savings. And while I am so deeply grateful I was able to get this far, I am hoping to get by with "a little help from my friends" until things really take off ♥.

tl;dr: I am a graduate student and freelancer who just launched my first business. Everything I've done up to this point is off the back of my savings and now I am running OUT. I'm requesting an extra month of expenses to tide me over while I'm in the process of becoming established. All help is so deeply appreciated!
