Meet the world most handsome, most lovable (all fur moms I am sure say or feel this way) Klaus the Belgian Malanois mix.
He came to me (to my home) unexpected, uninvited and if I am honest, unwanted. I had just lost my 17 year old Shepard Mix, the last thing I wanted was a pup, a naughty pup, a pup that needed to be re-homed and was full of life and needs. He was living a loving life but his original family had 3 human babies that needed so much attention that there was none left for Klaus. Here's where the story takes a twist. My neighbor was going to adopt this bundle of energy only to find out her other dog did not like the new pup. A dire need to re-home him raised. My neighbor calls me and tells me the story, she mentions how my loss could be filled with a new life and I agree to meet him. Story over! as the proverbial saying goes, "I fell head over heels." Since then he has enriched, supported and filled my life with loose hair, endless smiles and a loyalty that I can't begin to sum up. He is bright, not just in his little peanut head but in his spirit, he brightens up my life, forces me to go to the park daily, forces me to love on him when I don't feel specially loving and he forces me to be a better human than I was prior to meeting him.
Fast forward to a couple days ago, he has a few awesome toys that squeak, some that don't and others that are just weird but he likes them so who em'I to judge his choice in toys? I bought him what I thought a more safe toy at Sams club the kind without any stuffing but still with a squeaker. That backfired in a terrible fashion. The squeaker is pretty big like a small plastic tube well he ate that. He is in the hospital dehydrated, sans smiles, his normally bright shiny lively brown dreamy eyes are dim. He needs a Gastro intestinal blockage surgery that I was incredibly not ready for. I need my community's help, I am calling all animal lovers to come to my aid in this time of incredible need to save his precious and irreplaceable life.
He is to go into surgery today 5.16.21, I will get a call during his surgery to see if he will lose some of his intestines, if any died trying to expel the matter and at worst case if he has any leakage from his intestines into his tummy cavity. I can use prayers too!
Thank you to all of you in advanced for loving a stranger enough to send aid.
