My journey so far
Hi everyone, my name is Teo Bais and I'm 30 years old. I hold an MSc in ICT Engineering (top 1%, valedictorian) and have worked for five years as a Java Developer for Top-500 clients. In 2016, my passion for technology encouraged me to create the Utrecht Java User Group to bring like-minded people together, share knowledge, and network. Since 2017, I help Dutch banks deliver better software faster as a Scrum Master. As an immigrant, I had the privilege to endure challenges that paved the way for a better version of myself. Therefore, I enjoy sharing my knowledge as a public speaker to help others achieve their goals in career and life.
Next steps
I have not yet finished my journey. I aim to help governmental organizations create a meaningful impact in our society by leading people effectively. To do so, I need a theoretical background in business and good mentoring, tools that a well-ranked business school like TIAS can offer. I am honored to be part of the incoming Executive MBA class, but I can't do this alone.
Funding journey so far
Good business schools are expensive and as much I'd like to commit to the program, funding my degree is a notable challenge with an estimated cost of €51273 (€49500 for the tuition fee and €1773 for the commuting costs for two years). I am honored to receive a 20% scholarship and grateful to have received funding from friends and family, but I need your help with the remaining amount, which I plan to split into 3 installments over the next two years.
Why should you fund me?
I immigrated to the Netherlands all by myself when I was 25. My English was poor, and my residence was at stake due to financial problems at the time. 5 years later my story as an immigrant, community organizer, speaker, coach, and programmer inspires others to keep moving forward. Since the early days of my career, I have always expressed interest in serving the community in any way possible (read more after the pictures). Whether developing national security systems for Interpol in 2014, speaking at tech events in 2019, or writing a book on Enterprise Java security policies in 2021, making our world a better place by helping others thrive would be my motto.
Organizations lack great leaders. Empathy moves people forward. Help me fund my MBA.
What will you get in return?
After 8 years of service to the community, I'm asking for your help - any small donation will make the biggest difference towards supporting diversity in education, and helping me reach and inspire more passionate people who have dreams but not the necessary infrastructure to realize them.
I would be happy to offer my experience and help you improve your startup's processes, help you advance your career, prepare you for your upcoming presentation or help you improve your workplace culture as a motivational speaker. Moreover, for the most generous donors, my family and I will host you in Kavala, the Monte Carlo of Greece, and guide you around.
