Hi I am trying to help Iain and his family out this is Tias story and hopefully we can raise money to get her a wish or to help the family get something for Tia

**A message from our Family**

On Tuesday 18th March at 1304 I got a call that every parent dreads to have, a call lasting just 39 seconds which was an insight into just how fast everything has been. Tia who has been unwell for a few weeks attended Crosshouse University hospital after her Mum noticed her left Pupil had blown and that she had a bad headache. After arriving in Crosshouse she had a seizure that resulted in her being rushed for an emergency CT Scan. This scan revealed a mass in her brain that had caused fluid build up in her skull meaning, she was Blue lighted to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. Tia who remained very brave and humorous throughout this time was rushed into surgery to have a drain placed in her skull to relieve the fluid and pressure on her brain.
After 3 1/2 hours which to Mum, Family and I seemed like a lifetime we were happy to hear, that particular surgery was a success in the eyes of the surgeon.

Since writing this many times over the last week or so, Tia has had an MRI, Eye Tests and various other tests & Surgery. A biopsy was done to determine what the tumour is and has now been referred to and attended the Beatson centre for the start of Radiotherapy begining with a mask fitting and pre treatment scans. she has successfully had a shunt fitted internally which relieves the pressure on the brain internally so she feels a lot better and remains in good spirits.

We received the biopsy results and had asked if it remained only close family and friends that get regular updates however, I know what rumours are like and we wanted to make this post asking for Tia’s space and our own personal space to process everything. The biopsy results have shown that the tumour is a Diffuse Midline Glioma and very aggressive. It also doesn’t react well to chemotherapy or Surgery. For now all we can do is continue the Radiotherapy plan as we go forward.

We would ask all wishes and support be directed to this post rather than overwhelm us with private messages as we would rather we are concerning our time with Tia, her well being and treatment .

I would like to personally thank the staff, surgeons etc of both Crosshouse, Queen Elizabeth University hospitals and the Beatson Centre for their rapid but yet professionalism and care they have given Tia, Katie, Myself and the family over the last week or so.

we still have not had time to fully process this ourselves so I would appreciate that we be given the space and time to deal with this as a family.

I also want to say thank you to Barbra Ferguson who although going through something similar with her own child for sitting with me while Katie and Tia went off to her 1st surgery, the card and gifts for Tia and wish Natasha and Barbara all the best going forward with their treatment.

I would further like to thank family on all sides, friends and Bosses for their understanding during what we can only describe as the hardest time of our lives.

Again I cannot thank Katie, Mick, their Family, Laura (for supporting us, allowing me to stay with her through the Days, doing my washings etc, My Family (FAR TOO MANY TO MENTION BUT ALL OF YOU), my Mum for keeping all Kleen ticking and Emma my other amazing Daughter for being so strong and helping through this.

Most of all My Beautiful Daughter Tia. You have been so brave strong and bloody smart ass witted from the get go including cracking Dad Jokes within 30 mins of having brain surgery caring more about if everyone else was ok and even Naming the bloody tumour Benny to those who don’t know. You will never understand how incredibly proud of you I am and forever will be. They say a girls hero should be her Dad(s) but in this case I’m sure mick will agree with me that she is ours.

As we move forward please respect all our privacy while Tia gets the best help and treatment and made to feel as comfortable as possible from such an amazing team at QEUH, Beatson and other amazing teams that will see her be as comfortable and supported as they can.

Thank you to everyone who helps this family out
