Supporting Tiffany & her family
Donation protected
Tiffany is our dear friend and colleague who on the 5th January was admitted to hospital at 33 weeks pregnant with breathing difficulties as a result of contracting covid 19. A few days later the decision was made for the baby to be born early as she was unable to continue with the pregnancy. Tiffany had a c-section on the 8th January and her beautiful baby boy Nahiem was born weighing 3lb 11oz.
Little Nahiem did amazingly and on 25th January his Daddy Tunde was able to collect him and bring him home to Tiffany’s sister and Mum’s house. (Tunde has temporarily moved in with them). This was both a happy and tremendously sad moment for the family leaving Tiffany behind in hospital without her baby boy whom she only met once for a short period of time.
Tiffany’s condition sadly deteriorated and on the 24th January a decision was made to transfer her to the Royal Brompton hospital where she was put onto a lifesaving ECMO machine. Tiffany was on the ECMO machine for 2 weeks and has made some positive improvements since.
Tiffany is a strong, healthy young women and this has been utterly heartbreaking for the family. Tiffany’s partner Tunde, sister Whitney and mother Jaqueline have had to adjust quickly to caring for a newborn baby, with Tunde being unable to work as a result.
Whilst Tiffany is stable and making improvements daily there is a long road ahead. We would be so grateful if you can support this lovely family by donating what you can. All the funds raised will help give them financial reassurance during this incredibly shocking and difficult time as well as supporting changes that they may need to make once Tiffany is able to come home. Should the family reach a point where the financial support is no longer needed they would like to donate to the Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospital Covid-19 relief fund. The charity raises money for life saving equipment such as the ECMO machine that has helped keep Tiffany and so many others alive.
We will continue to update you on Tiffany’s progress and would like to say a huge thank you to anyone who has donated so far and kept Tiffany in their thoughts. It means so much to the family.
With love,
Tiffany’s friends & colleagues
