Help Tiffa Fight Cancer

Hi everyone- my friends and I are raising money to help our dear friend Tiffa with medical bills and living expenses related to her recent diagnosis of stage 3 breast cancer.

Tiffa was recently (Feb 15, 2024) diagnosed with triple negative stage 3 breast cancer with a 90% proliferation rate. Because of the advanced speed and aggressive nature of this type of cancer, her doctors have pushed to start her chemo treatment immediately (Feb 26, 2024.) This sudden change and medical emergency has forced her to immediately stop working for at least the next year during her treatment, resulting in a complete loss of her entire income for the foreseeable future. At this time, Tiffa is facing this diagnosis and the long road of treatment ahead - 20 weeks of intense chemotherapy, plus surgery and radiation - without familial support and without the help of a partner. She currently does not have any financial support.

As a friend of Tiffa’s for 20 years- I can proudly say she is one of the most loyal, kind, and strongest people I’ve ever known. Tiffa is a self employed NY based artist, and a fiercely independent hard worker who has supported herself since college. Her close friends and I have been gathering all the resources we can to support her both physically and mentally through this sudden diagnosis. Throughout the course of her treatment she will be reliant on us to do things like accompany her to appointments, communicate with doctors, and provide care to her.

Tiffa’s Medicaid insurance will help cover some of her treatment expenses, but her out of pocket costs to complete treatment will still be very high. Her insurance won’t cover the expensive additional services Tiffa requires for successful recovery during and post-treatment. In addition to the medical expenses, we are fundraising for Tiffa’s living expenses during her treatment and recovery when she won’t be able to work (e.g. rent, utilities, and food for at least a year of treatment and recovery.)

I know there are so many people and groups of friends Tiffa has inspired, loved, and more than anything has made laugh. Tiffa, myself, and everyone who loves her would be so grateful for any funds you might be able to contribute to help cover her medical and life expenses.
