Help Tim Bowen Breathe

We have an urgent request for your financial assistance.
**UPDATE** Tim received his 2 new beautiful lungs on January 1, 2023! What a blessed way to start this year off. He is still in the hospital and is doing well. His road to recovery will be long and we are so grateful for all your support and help.
On Dec 18th Tim and Lisa visited Stanford Medical Center to evaluate Tim for a double lung transplant. During that appointment, the medical team determined Tim’s health had declined quickly and he would not be allowed to return home to Washington. Tim was admitted immediately, where he will remain hospitalized until the transplant.
This means uprooting the Bowen family from their home and local business.
As you can imagine the cost to do all this is overwhelming.
Funds raised through the campaign will help to cover the additional costs, including maintaining a required second residence 30 minutes from the hospital, uncovered medical expenses, and Lisa’s travel back and forth from California to care for Tim and her family here in Woodinville.
It is very hard for Tim & Lisa to ask for help so we as their extended family, friends and community are asking for the help they will need. We want Lisa and Tim to be able to focus on recovery as much as possible.
Your financial help is so greatly appreciated. Any funds raised that are not used for Tim's recovery will be donated to a local Woodinville Charity.
Here's a bit more detail:
Tim was diagnosed in 2018 with an autoimmune disease (Hypersensitivity Pneumonitis) which has slowly started to destroy his lungs in a very similar manner to that of Pulmonary Fibrosis. The specific cause of Tim’s condition has never been identified, but we are certain that his actions or choices did not in any way cause this.
Tim has worked tirelessly, as has Lisa, to find something that would stop the progression of this ruthless disease. Despite the best efforts of modern and natural medicine, Tim has continued a slow decline. The only viable medical solution is that Tim needs to have a double lung transplant and has been going through the steps to get “in line” for that procedure.
Tim and Lisa went to Stanford Medical Center right before Christmas for a checkup and during that visit, the medical team advised that it was not safe for Tim to return home and they would need to immediately begin the process of getting him on the transplant list. Tim’s health had declined quickly and he will now need to stay in the hospital until they can find a suitable donor for his transplant. Tim was admitted to the Stanford Medical Center in Palo Alto, California, one of the premier lung transplant centers in the United States, and he will remain hospitalized until the transplant.
Because of his condition, Tim is very high on the donor list and if all goes as planned, he will be given the blessing of new lungs very soon. Although the recovery will be very challenging, the transplant will be life-changing for Tim and Lisa and their children.
As they wait for a donor, Lisa now has to maintain a second residence near Stanford where neither Tim nor Lisa has friends or relatives. She will also need to travel back and forth to Washington to manage her business and care for her children. Following the completion of the transplant, Tim and Lisa will be required to reside within 30 minutes of Stanford for 4 months at a minimum (though it could be longer). Eventually, they will be able to return home and continue with their normal lives in Woodinville.
