Dear Friends, Family, and Kind-hearted Strangers,

My name is Timothy Walker Sr., and I am reaching out to you with a hopeful spirit, seeking your support. I am starting this GoFundMe campaign because I have been diagnosed with prostate cancer. This is my second challenge with cancer; in 2014, I was diagnosed with kidney cancer. By the grace of God, the cancer was removed, but I was left with a partial kidney.

In April of this year, I received the devastating news that I have cancer again, this time in my prostate. Due to my previous cancer and surgeries, finding a surgeon in Charleston willing to perform the necessary surgery was nearly impossible. Thankfully, I found a surgeon in Orlando, Florida, who is willing to perform this life-saving procedure. The treatment is extensive and requires surgery, which has resulted in overwhelming medical bills. Despite having insurance, the out-of-pocket costs for surgery, treatment, and travel are more than I can handle.

My wife of 37 years, Tonya, and I live in South Carolina. We must travel to Orlando for the surgery on July 25, 2024. After the surgery, we will need to stay in Orlando for at least two weeks for observation by my surgeons and their staff. This includes arriving in town before the surgery, undergoing the procedure, and then making multiple follow-up visits to the hospital.

The funds raised will be used for travel between Charleston, SC, and Orlando, FL, hotel accommodations for up to two weeks, food, medical bills, rehabilitation, and follow-up care with my oncologist in Charleston, SC.
