Hi! My name is Tim. I am an active 12-year-old boy who loves to read books, build Lego, and spend time with family and friends.

Until recently my life was normal, but then I noticed that even the most simple exercise caused me back pain and shortage of breath. My parents also noticed my right shoulder blade sticking up unnaturally.

After an MRI scan and a couple of X-rays, the consultant we saw delivered news which devastated my life. I suffer from idiopathic scoliosis, and my spine is now curved at staggering 78 degrees, and the only way to improve my health is to have an operation.

Scoliosis is a progressive condition, and time is of the essence. Unfortunately, the current waiting time on the NHS is approximately 18-24 months. The alternative is to have it done privately, but unfortunately my parents can't afford to cover the full costs of it.

I would like to start a life without scoliosis, without having to adapt to constant restrictions, spine pain, constant physiotherapy, and without a brace. I would like my scoliosis to become a thing of the past.

Mam na imię Tymon i niedługo będę miał 13 urodziny. Do niedawna moje życie toczyło się tak jak życie każdego 12 latka. Uwielbiam rodzinne wycieczki, czytać książki, składać Lego i spędzać czas z rodziną i przyjaciółmi.

Pod koniec zeszłego roku zauważyłem że proste czynności sprawiają mi ból pleców i problemy z oddychaniem. Moi rodzice umówili mnie do specjalisty, którego diagnoza zburzyła mój cały dotychczasowy świat.

Mój ból pleców i problemy z oddychaniem są wynikiem skoliozy a mój kręgosłup jest wygięty w 78 stopniach.

Jedynym sposobem na uratowanie mojego zdrowia jest operacja kręgosłupa. Niestety w Wielkiej Brytanii gdzie mieszkam z siostra i rodzicami, czas oczekiwania na operację to 18-24 miesiące, a ponieważ skolioza jest chorobą szybko postępującą, czas działa na moja niekorzyść.

Alternatywą jest kosztowna operacja, wykonana prywatnie ale niestety moi rodzice nie są w stanie pokryć jej kosztów w całości.

Chciałbym wrócić do mojego poprzedniego życia bez bólu pleców i problemów z oddychaniem. Proszę pomóż mi sprawić, aby skolioza stała sie tylko złym wspomnieniem.
