If you have ever met Tim Smith, you would know he is the best husband, dad, son, brother, uncle, and friend that anyone could ever ask for. Tim is the kind of person that, for his entire life, would be the first to go out and help anyone who in need- whether they have asked for it or not- while never expecting anything in return.
The past 3 plus years Tim has been battling a rare form of
Non-Hodgkin lymphoma called Mantle Cell Lymphoma and has been in and out of remission due to short term results from multiple chemotherapies. He has been accepted into a clinical trial at The City of Hope hospital in California. This study is very promising and we are beyond excited for him to be part of it. The study will require Tim and Kim to fly back and forth from Lincoln to Los Angeles many times over the next year and will include a multi-week stay in the hospital starting in June.
With the cost of flights, hotel stays, medical expenses and missed work, this much needed treatment has created a financial strain that should not have to be a worry for their family at this time.
As Tim’s family, we are setting up this GoFundMe page to help offset some of Tim’s medical expenses so he can concentrate on getting well and not what it will cost.
