Help Timmy Get a Handicapped Van
Donation protected
Hello everyone, my name is Emalie and Timmy is my little brother, he is 14 and the youngest out of six of us! Timmy was born with microcephaly and cerebral palsy. He is non verbal and unfortunately can’t walk. But that isn’t what I want to define him as. When I look at him I see innocence, love, and wonder. I know if he could talk he would have so much to say about the world. It has always bothered me that I can’t come home and say, “Hey Tim, what’d you do today?”, and him actually answer and have a conversation with me. Or the fact we never got to have a normal connection that an older sibling has with their younger sibling. He is still my best friend and I love him with all of me. Our mom’s name is Amy. She is a single mom to 6 kids. All of us are teenagers/adults now. The best way to describe her would be hard working. Although, she doesn’t actually work, Timmy is her full-time job. She can’t exactly work because she isn’t provided with enough nursing hours. She’s getting older and is developing more health problems. When Timmy was younger everything was more easy physically. He was so light to carry and push him around in his wheel chair. Now he is 105 pounds, so things aren’t the easiest. Timmy sadly doesn’t get out anymore because we don’t have a van that is handicapped accessible, nor can afford one with prices being so expensive. We get all the help we can from our family, but we could use the extra help so that Timmy can get out again. A handicapped accessible van would also be very helpful to get him to his appointments, and just in case an emergency situation occurs. We want to take him to all of these places, and just see him be happy like he used to be when he was younger. He loved being outside, going to the lake, being at the pool, and just going for a nice car ride in general. I’m not looking for any judgement because I know people can be very hostile and judgmental about handicapped people. I’ve already heard people make fun of Timmy and it really hurts because they don’t understand until they have walked in our family’s shoes. It would be very much appreciated if people could donate to help us so that we could get Timmy going places again! Please be kind hearted to my little brother, and thank you. ❤️
