Tim Gordon’s Stage 4 Cancer Medical Expenses Fund
Hello! Thank you for visiting Tim’s gofundme page!
As some of you may know, my parents have both been diagnosed with cancer this past year. It has been difficult, to say the least, to experience both the uncertainty of COVID, on top of having two loved ones battling cancer during that time (especially since they are both healthcare workers, who had been working through the pandemic already). Thankfully, my mom’s cancer was eradicated with surgery. My stepdad, Tim’s, cancer was more difficult to treat, but he worked through chemo and radiation like a champ and his tumor was no longer detectable this winter.
Unfortunately, we’ve just learned that the doctors have found a metastasis on Tim’s liver. He will need to undergo surgery soon, followed by 6 months to a year of chemotherapy. Tim has been receiving his cancer treatments at Sloan-Kettering, and while it’s an enormous relief that he can receive treatment at an excellent facility, it also requires a significant amount of travel time, hotel stays, and time off of work for both of my parents, who have exhausted much of their PTO from work this past year. It is also unclear yet whether or not Tim will be able to work through his cancer treatment, but we are worried about his ability to work due to the severe neuropathy he experienced during his last round of chemo.
With a surgery and chemotherapy coming up, I am hoping to raise some funds for them to help alleviate some of the financial strain they may experience while Tim receives his treatment over the next year. Anyone who knows Tim knows what a kind, giving, and thoughtful person he is. I am hoping that others will be able to show that same generosity towards him during this difficult time for our family.
Anything you are able to do to help support this gofundme would be greatly appreciated, whether it be a financial donation (if you’re able), words of encouragement, shares/posts on social media, etc.
Thank you all for your support! We appreciate it more than you’ll ever know!
