Help Tina's Dream of Community Wellness

My name is Tina Bean. I recently purchased a building. I had no idea what to do with it! You see, I have worked as a family nurse practitioner for over 13.5 years.
Recently, having noticed a rising need for quality mental health support for the community in the area of mental health, I went back to school. Earning my Doctorate as a Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Certification, I planned to use my skills to serve the community. As the facility I worked at was very rural and many residents did not have access to providers, that was a place I could utilize my education.
Unforeseeably, I no longer work at the facility for which I trained to provide services. I have since opened my own private practice in Wilmington, NC. While this location is closer to where I live, my passion is still for the patients in the Pender community. Most of them have followed me--which is great--but many of the poorest and most challenged mentally could not.
I want to provide for their needs and give access to the masses. Enter the building that I purchased. It has about 7,000 sq ft with 4500 sq ft available to do 2 things:
1. Give access to medical and behavioral health services in the rural community.
2. Startup of a day care.
Many children are not able to afford day care or after school programs, and early childhood development is critical to the wellbeing of children. The location purchased is near an elementary school which will open up opportunities for families to take their children to school and the younger ones to day care. I wish to renovate the building and offer access to medical and mental health needs as well as early childhood development in a community that so desperately needs it.
I awakened with the nudge to start a GoFundMe Page. What is that? I asked some people and immediately began to retreat on the idea. God doesn't let us off that easily. That's where you come in.
WHO: You of course :)
WHAT: Funds needed to renovate a building that would invest in Pender County
WHY: My heart's desire is to return to the community that has allowed me to support them and has nurtured me. There aren't a lot of resources rurally, I want to help fill in the gap.
WHEN: Now. Renovations and planning take time, but raising funds begins today. We need to raise a lot of money but the end result will be amazing.
WHERE: The location will be on 5488 Eleanor Roosevelt Lane, Willard, NC 28478
I listen to Pandora and hear commercials about the cost and would love to be a beacon of hope in the Pender community. Please partner with me to make this much needed dream become a reality in this community.
I am seeking donations that will help pay for renovations needed to the building. Your contributions will make a better life for some and can be a matter of life or death to others. Thank you in advance for your contribution, time, and support.
