Help tiny business replace broken 3D printer
Donation protected
The Problem
At the least opportune time possible, our current 3D printer broke. Unfortunately, despite extensive tinkering with the wiring, electronics, firmware, and everything else that might be responsible for its issues, I've been unable to resurrect it, even at reduced functionality.
In short: we need another one.
Why is this an emergency?
We use it a lot. Leaving aside home use, it's important to my and my wife's businesses (in IT and electronics, and in arts and crafts) for producing mounts, cases, small replacement parts, molds, cutters, templates, frameworks, clasps, customized tools, and more.
While it isn't impossible for us to get by without it, lacking it's a serious impediment - and one in economic times, thanks to the coronavirus, when tiny businesses really can't afford even small impediments.
COVID-19 Donor Bonus
I'd be lying if I said it was my primary motivation in asking for help, certainly, but since I am asking the community to help me, I feel that I really ought to give something back.
So if and when I get a working printer up and running, I undertake to use it to print face shields, masks, or other PPE supplies for donation to local medical facilities in need of such, at our own expense. And I further undertake to, for so long as the pandemic lasts, to print these for anyone who requests them, at cost of shipping.
Anything you could spare to keep us running would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you very much for your help.
