Help Tisha After Tragic Accident

On Saturday 1/25 Tisha McKay and her husband Michael McKay hit a deer and rolled their truck. Tisha was ejected from the truck and received numerous injuries. She was life lighted to OU in OKC. Some of these injuries include left femur broke, left hip socket exploded, right knee broke, pelvis is messed up, pelvic bleeding, possible broken ribs, and fractured lower back in two places. She will be undergoing multiple surgeries. Michael had a broken collar bone and broken ribs. At this time they no longer have a vehicle, they also need a bed for Tisha when she is released from the hospital. This doesn’t include any hospital bills either. i Kimberly McKay am Tisha’s daughter in law and Katlyn McKay is her daughter in law as well. Katlyn is listed as the beneficiary because she will be keeping track of the funds raised and buy the things Tisha needs as she will be taking care of her when she gets out of the hospital. Hospital bed, medical supplies not covered by insurance, medical bills etc.

Everything she has had done so far: she had her hip socket put in place and a track running to her knee with 25 pounds of pressure to hold it nice and straight. Her right knee has an outside stabilizing bar so they could get her knee cap straight and in place again. They put a plate and screw on her right pelvic ring. She has had 3 surgeries already to get all those things done. She will have a surgery on Wednesday to repair the femur she broke. She will have another surgery Friday to repair her knee cap which will involve plates and screws along with repairing any ligament damage along with repairing her pelvic ring with plates and screws. She currently also has multiple rib fractures on both sides, 2 fractures in her lower back, and is currently being given more blood due to some blood loss in her last surgery. Once surgeries are done they will move her to a skilled rehab facility to finish recovering before she can go home. It will be a long process and prayers are appreciated!

Update as of 2/22.

Tisha has been moved from the hospital to a skilled nursing facility. She has only been approved for 7-14 days at most. She is non weight bearing for 9 more weeks. She still can’t straighten either leg out. Also had 5 surgeries on pelvic area. A hip replacement and a knee surgery. Broken ribs and should get therapy to help regain being able to stand or even walk later down the line. Continued donations, shares, & prayers are appreciated.
