Help Support Tisha's Fight

Tisha Scott is currently battling breast cancer. So many have been asking for an update on how she is doing so here is a brief summary.

While at routine checkup in July, Tisha’s doctor referred her for a mammogram since she had not yet had one. That department was slow that day and they were able to take her in right away. A few days later, Tisha received a call letting her know that they wanted her to come back for additional images. Though she did have concerns, she also knew that this was not completely out of the ordinary. While at her next appointment they decided to take a closer look and recommended an ultrasound.  During the ultrasound procedure they decided to do a biopsy. About a week later, while at work, Tisha received the phone call with the unexpected results. She was told that she had cancer. Surgery was scheduled two weeks later. Surgery went well and lymph nodes showed NO sign of cancer. A week later Tisha met with her surgeon who told her that after further testing he felt it was important to perform a second surgery in order to remove more tissue.  Two weeks after the first surgery, Tisha went in for a second surgery.  

Tisha’s Oncologist planned on starting daily radiation treatments a few weeks after surgery. Though after further testing, her Oncologist recommended chemotherapy. Tisha was hesitant, as this was not part of the original plan. After much consideration, and recommendation by her Radiologist also, Tisha opted to undergo chemo treatments. With much support from family and friends, Tisha prepared to fight! She did not want to pass up this opportunity. Hopes are to complete chemo treatments in the next couple of months. It is not certain at this point whether radiation will follow. It depends on her response to the chemo treatments.   

Tisha is very thankful to have insurance and a great team of doctors, but there are many unforeseen costs. Tisha would never ask for help so a few good friends have decided to do this for her. She has not been able to work since August. The loss of income along with the copays, medications, cost of living and products to make her feel comfortable have added up. Our goal is to take the financial stress/burden out of an already incredibly difficult situation for Tisha. 

Many people have asked how they can help. Any contribution you are able to make would be immensely helpful and monumentally appreciated. Associated bills are mounting already. The funds will be used to help Tisha continue all medical treatments recommended and will also help her to be comfortable and relieved of financial strain. She has a long road ahead, but with your help will win this battle and be cancer free.
