Help Tito Pay His Vet Bills!!

Donation protected

*UPDATE 9/24* Tito is still resting and trying his best to get better, but we've hit a couple hiccups in his recovery process. While he is adjusting well to his new kidney diet, his incision is still infected. We've been applying warm compresses, Neosporin, Hibiclens, and warm water rinses, but the infection still lingers. The vet thinks it could be a bad reaction to his internal sutures, which would require another (minor) surgery to remove them. We hope this is not the case.

Tito's first bill payment is in just six days (9/30) and we need to pay as much as we can towards his total before that day! Any donation is appreciated and we can't thank those who have donated/shared enough for their support!

*UPDATE 9/14* Tito was diagnosed with Stage Two Kidney Disease. We believe this is likely an acute onset due to his severe dehydration prior to his emergency surgery. Before his surgery, he had not eaten or kept water down from that Saturday night until after his surgery Wednesday morning.

He has an ultrasound scheduled for this Friday (9/17) to determine the severity of this stage and the potential causes.

Hi! I'm Tito! I'm a two year old American Bulldog mix.

I accidentally ate a large piece of rubber from a construction job in my apartment complex (my pawrents didn't even see!) and after a few days I threw up all over the place and had to be taken to the ER. The doctors just thought I had an upset tummy, but after a few more trips to the ER, I needed emergency surgery to get that thing outta me!

After a long three days, I was finally released from the doctors care and allowed to go home, but my owners are having a very hard time paying my bills. I'd pay for it myself, but I'm a dog and I don't have any pockets to keep my money in!!

Hi, Jason here - Tito's father. In all seriousness, we are in a very deep hole here after Tito's surgery. This entire experience has been a complete shock and something we were very unprepared for. When Tito began feeling ill, we had no idea what caused his symptoms. The doctors at Metropolitan Animal Emergency Center were phenomenal while caring for Tito, but there was no 100% guarantee that Tito would survive the surgery. Thankfully, he did and is recovering nicely!

The total cost of his care was a little over $6,000. We had no idea how to pay, so we were forced to apply for a new credit card and put it all on there. We're scrambling to pick up extra work to help bring some cash in, but $6k is far more than we can shell out alone.

Even after all of this, Tito is recovering pretty well, but his kidney values are way too high for a 2 y/o dog. He still has to get retested for kidney disease, as well as receive a follow up ultra-sound at his primary care vet, Palisades Veterinary Clinic .

The $7,500 fundraiser goal will cover all of Tito's current bills, help us with the follow-up tests and help us pay a new, comfy bed for him to relax on as he continues to recover.

We need help. Any donation you can spare would be greatly appreciated.
